The Christchurch Foundation is thrilled to introduce our new Board member, Lucy-Mary Mulholland.
Lucy-Mary brings a wealth of frontline experience in community development initiatives across Aotearoa, including managing youth-led festivals, community centres and neighbourhood building projects; working as a child therapist in schools; designing placemaking activations; and facilitating strategy development for community and environmental organisations.
She now works as an educator in regenerative community development with the Regenesis Institute for Regenerative Practice, and lives with her husband, Michael, and daughter, Libby, in Spreydon. Together, they are turning half their property over to native forest in the hopes that one day their home will become a small but important stepping stone for tūī returning to the city.

“It’s a privilege to be joining the board of this essential contributor to the future of Ōtautahi. Community foundations are what enable cities to continue resourcing the potential of place over time. We can’t always see what’s coming over the horizon, so it’s vital to ensure that regenerating resource is always there to support the community initiatives that truly resonate with that emerging potential. Our place thrives at the macro when communities see what needs care at the micro and have the means to respond, together.”
Lucy-Mary joins the Foundation at an exciting time of growth and new opportunities. Her experience, passion and leadership will play a valuable role in guiding our mahi into the new year.
Welcome, Lucy-Mary!
