Women who think outwardly.

Women who give purposefully.

Women who feel passionately...

...and who are ready to drive change, locally.

Impact100 Canterbury brings together women who want to create meaningful local impact by combining their generosity, experience, and unique kaupapa to fund transformational community projects.

Together, we pool our giving, learn about local challenges and how to address them, and collectively decide where a major charitable grant will make the greatest difference. It’s philanthropy reimagined, reclaimed, and redefined by women – for women.

“In New Zealand, as we see more specialist groups getting their funding cut, this is such a crucial time for women to stand together and do something for good. Women move mountains. I look over these wāhine toa here today and I think: ‘Goodness me, you can feel the power and connection in the room, with new connections happening every moment."

Our Model

Up to 100 women
$1,100 each
Pooled total granted locally every year

Impact100 is a global giving model for women that turns individual generosity into collective impact. Founded in 2001 in Cincinnati, USA, there are now more than 70 chapters worldwide.

Members pool their donations to fund a yearly grant to an outstanding local charity, enabling high-impact projects that create real community change.  Here in Aotearoa, Impact100 Wakatipu has already granted over NZ$1 million since launching in 2020.

Impact100 Canterbury members contribute $1,100 each year.  Of this, $100 covers administration, $100 supports the Kate Sheppard Women’s Fund, and the remainder goes toward annual grants.

How does it work?

For Charities:

  1. Local registered charities aligned with our mission and yearly focus area will be invited to apply when the next grant cycle opens.

  2. Members assess proposals through a collaborative and transparent process.

  3. Finalists pitch to the entire group at our annual award ceremony.

  4. Each member may vote to decide who receives the major grant.

For Members:

Impact100 Canterbury membership offers the opportunity to connect with thoughtful, generous women from across Canterbury, expand your understanding of the issues shaping our community, and play an active role in directing meaningful local change.
